Player Traffic / Ease of Competition

PKR is on its own independent network and during European peak hours (16:00 – 00:00 GMT) PKR averages 6000+ players. Since PKR offer around the clock freerolls you will always find that a larger percentage of players are here rather than in the cash games. At peak times you can expect around 1000+ players in the cash games with the other 5000+ in tournaments. In terms of traffic the majority tends to be in the low limit games, this is because many players are more interested in the outstanding software rather than the high stakes action.

The competition at PKR is considerably weak; most of the players are novices that are there to enjoy the game rather than to profit. This isn’t surprising since most of the games played here are on the low to mid stakes. In tournaments and cash games alike players are very loose and aggressive, with typically high flop percentages. Even at some of the higher stakes games you will still find many loose players that like to gamble.

Cash Game Action

The cash game selection at PKR is reasonably fair. You will generally find the best action at the no-limit Texas hold’em tables. Check out the list of games and variations on offer below:

NL Hold’em (2c/4c to $25/$50): This is where players can expect to see quite a lot of action all the way up to $2/4. Occasionally during peak times stakes can even reach as high as $5/$10 with good action and loose play.

FL Hold’em (5c/10c to $30/$60): Hardly any players can be found above the 25c/50c limit although during peak times this can differ.

PL Omaha (2c/4c to $5/$10): Even during off-peak times you can find some great action up to $1/$2.

PL Hold’em, FL Omaha, FL Omaha Hi Lo, PL Omaha Hi L: Very little action is offered on these variations and they are virtually dead.

Multi-Table Tourneys (MTTs)

PKR offer all the regular tournament formats such as normal, speed, and rebuy tournaments. The multi-table tournaments at PKR are very popular with buy-ins starting from as low $0.20 going all the way up to $500. Players will find the selection of tournaments on offer great, especially the beginners as they run around the clock freerolls.
